Christmas is only two weeks away! Is it just us, or do the Holidays fly by every year? One second it is Halloween, and before you can even blink, it’s January. If you’ve been following along with our blog for a while, you’ve probably realized we really like lists. We make checklists for everything – and this time of year is no different. In order to get into the holiday spirit, we’ve started a list of Christmas activities in Atlanta. We hope to get through them before the holidays are over, and would recommend these activities to anyone in the Atlanta area!
Miracle Bar Atlanta – For adults, 21+, Miracle is the place to be! The pop-up Christmas bar has two locations (one in Midtown and one in Buckhead) decked from the floor to ceiling in Christmas decorations. The line can be long, but our experience was worth the wait. Inside we sipped on Christmas themed cocktails, decorated and ate delicious cookies and sang along to the Christmas music. Miracle is only open until Christmas Eve, so hurry before it closes!
Ice Skating At The Battery – Being from Colorado, you would think we’d be awesome at ice skating. Well…Tyler is. I trip walking in a straight line, but that doesn’t keep ice skating from being at the top of our “Christmas activities in Atlanta” list. The Battery is an awesome place to hang out, and the ice skating rink and HUGE Christmas tree bring it to the next level.
Garden Lights Holiday Nights – Every single person we’ve talked to has recommended visiting the Atlanta Botanical Garden for Garden Lights. Of all the items on our list, this is the one we are the most excited about. We love light shows and can’t wait to be wowed by the city views, as well as, the spectacular light displays throughout the garden. Pro tip: show up at 9pm to buy tickets and get them for only $13.95!
Festivity + Trees – Yesterday we were going on a walk in Midtown when we came across Festivity + Trees. If you want to see some amazing art, you need to check out Festivity + Trees. Colony Square is celebrating Christmas with over 40 wooden trees uniquely painted by local Atlanta artists. We loved seeing how each artist made the tree completely their own. Tyler loved the tree with the Atlanta sports teams, but my favorite had a llama on it.
World of Coca-Cola Holiday Festivities – It’s the most wonderful time of the year at Coca-Cola! We love World of Coca-Cola! We visited when we first toured Atlanta last January, but are eager to go back during the holiday season. Tyler is excited to try the Chocolate Cherry Coke, but I can’t wait to check out the exhibit that celebrates how Coca-Cola has become a part of Christmas throughout the years.
Festival of the SEAson at Georgia Aquarium – We heard an advertisement on the radio about Scuba Claus and we were in! During December, the Georgia Aquarium transforms itself into a winter wonderland. This sounds like a super fun event for kids. Combining a winter wonderland and one of the largest aquariums in the world? Sounds like a must see this Christmas.
This is not an exhaustive list of Christmas activities in Atlanta, but just what we think sounds fun! Who knows, one of these activities could become your next Christmas tradition! We’d love to hear what you all are doing to get into the Holiday spirit! Leave a comment below to let us know.
